Github is down…

Perhaps it is a good time to think about mirrors for open source projects

The page that is displayed instead of the repository content (github.com)

Github has actually become synonymous with version control system for many.
Is it a monopoly? After all, there are alternatives, like Bitbucket or Gitlab.

But then again, virtually every developer has interacted with Github, and many today’s outage took their minds off their scheduled Saturday programming.

More services are slowly going down… (githubstatus.com)

Well, this once again shows that putting all your eggs in one basket doesn’t work out for the best.
